Five men have been arrested and another man hospitalised after a street fight in Kent.

Kent Police said the "serious assault" happened at the junction of Minster Road and Sunnyside Avenue, Minster-on-Sea, shortly before 23:50 GMT on Friday.

It was reported that man in his 20s was found unconscious after he and two friends were attacked by a gang of men armed with baseball bats.

The five arrested men, aged between 18 and 42, are from the local area and remain in custody.

Police said the injured man was taken to a hospital in London and was in a serious but stable condition on Saturday afternoon.

Anyone who saw the incident or has video footage of it is asked to contact police.

Officers also want to speak to anyone who saw an earlier confrontation between two groups of men at The Highlander pub, in High Street, between 21:30 and 23:30.
