Seven neglected ponies seized from field by police
- Published
Seven ponies have been removed from a field by police after concerns about their health and condition.
Dorset Police rural crime team officers visited the ponies in West Dorset on Tuesday along with officers from the RSPCA and World Horse Welfare charity.
After being assessed by a vet, the force said "to prevent unnecessary suffering" all seven were seized under the Animal Welfare Act.
The force said the ponies were being cared for and receiving the treatment they needed, and an investigation was ongoing.
