A man will go on trial after pleading not guilty to causing the death of a woman by dangerous driving.

Oliver Hartley, 23, of Bentley Lane in Meanwood, Leeds, appeared at York Crown Court earlier over the crash, which took place on the A6055 between Leeming Bar and Catterick on 1 August 2021.

Linda Mary Stockdale, who was 65, died when her Kia Ceed was struck by an Audi A7 near Marne Barracks, Catterick Garrison.

Mr Hartley’s trial will take place from 28 July 2025 after he denied causing death by dangerous driving and also causing death while driving a vehicle while unlicensed or uninsured.

He was granted bail until the trial.
