An investigation is under way after two dogs died after visiting a park in Devon.

Exeter City Council described the incident at Cowick Barton Playing Fields in Exeter as an alleged poisoning.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a number of foxes had also been found dead.

The force said officers were trying to understand the "full circumstances" of the deaths.

The council, which owns the park, said it wanted pet owners to be aware.

A spokesperson for the local authority said: "Exeter City Council is aware of the situation.
