A12 shut after fire causes trail of flaming debris

A section of the A12 in Essex has been closed following a car fire which resulted in a diesel spillage and flaming debris.
National Highways said on X, external that northbound traffic between junction 18 at Danbury and junction 19 at the Boreham Interchange had been halted and the section closed.
Essex County Fire & Rescue Service has been at the scene.
Motorists have been advised there were delays of at least 30 minutes, with 30 minute delays on the southbound carriageway due to a separate incident, with diversions put in place.
