Part of the M6 in the West Midlands had to be closed after two cars and a motorbike were involved in a crash.
Emergency crews were called to the southbound carriageway at junction 10a, for the M54 and junction 10, for Walsall, at about 11:00 BST.
Both lanes were closed while paramedics, firefighters and police crews were at the scene, National Highways said.
The northbound carriageway reopened about an hour later with part of the southbound side reopening at about 13:00. The motorway fully reopened at about 15:00.
A man in his 60s and a woman in her 70s were both taken to hospital for checks, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said.
