Hairy Bikers widow calls for birthday kindness acts

The widow of Hairy Biker Dave Myers has asked people to celebrate the birthday of her husband with an act of kindness.
The TV chef, who was one half of the Hairy Bikers TV cookery show duo along with Si King, died in February aged 66 following a diagnosis of cancer.
In June, some 20,000 bikers joined a mammoth ride from London to Cumbria to celebrate his life with the event called Dave Day.
Lili Myers encouraged people to "give a Dave Day" gesture on Sunday, which would have been his 67th birthday.
Mrs Myers told BBC Radio Cumbria that his kindness inspired her to continue his legacy by asking people to give someone a gift on her late husband's birthday.
"Even it is just a hug, a book, a nice card, a meal or a smile, just give somebody something nice on 8 September," she said.
"He would have loved seeing people being kind to each other. His heart was so big."
Mrs Myers said she written a social media post to promote the gesture but she "never expected" such a big response.
"How wonderful is that? The Dave Day energy is carrying on and that's the spirit that I wanted to keep," she added.
Dave Day saw a huge remembrance procession of bikers journeying from the capital to Myers' coastal home town of Barrow-in-Furness on 8 June.
In July, Mrs Myers said: "I think the event [Dave Day] was so successful and so beautiful, it would be such a pity not to do something in the future to keep the legacy going.
"He was a kind person, he was considerate, he treated his friends and he was always smiling."
