Historic former convent set to fetch millions

The All Saints Sisters of the Poor have placed the site in Oxford up for sale

A former convent has been listed for sale for the first time in 145 years, with the 3.1-acre site valued at £12m.
The All Saints Sisters of the Poor is selling 15A Magdalen Road in Oxford after deciding to relocate from the city.
Having first moved to the site in 1880, the sisters designated the spot - which is made up of multiple Grade II listed buildings - their Mother House in the mid-1970s.
The property has been listed for sale by global property consultancy firm Knight Frank, which said it expected it to be "highly sought after".

The Friary features an Edwardian chapel
At the centre of the east Oxford site is a 38-bedroom care facility, which is run by an external provider on a lease until 2037.
Other buildings on the site include the Friary, which features an Edwardian chapel - complete with stained glass windows, as well as more modern ones.
Sam Van de Velde, from Knight Frank, said: "Properties of this calibre and central Oxford location emerge perhaps once in a generation.
"For investors seeking assets with existing infrastructure, genuine heritage value and multiple revenue streams, this opportunity combines scale, character and development flexibility."

The property also includes some more modern buildings
Announcing the move last year, the All Saints Sisters of the Poor confirmed they would be relocating to London - where the sisterhood was originally founded.
They said it meant they could "continue their ministry, without the burden of managing such a large property-based estate".
The sisters are best known for founding what is now Helen & Douglas House, which opened its doors as the world's first children's hospice in 1982.
