A woman who was found injured in a property and later died in hospital has been named by police as Carol Georgiou.

Ms Georgiou, 42, was discovered after the ambulance service was called to a property in Holywell Place, in the Springfield area of Milton Keynes, in the early hours of Saturday morning, Thames Valley Police said.

A man in his 40s was arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday, and has been in custody since.

A Home Office post-mortem has been conducted, however the cause of death is still to be determined and further forensic tests were required, police said.

Det Ch Insp Mike Roddy, from Thames Valley Police, said the man and the woman were previously known to each other.

“We are continuing our investigation and a scene remains in place and we would thank residents for their patience," he said.

“A man remains in custody at this time and we not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."
