Man seriously injured in dog attack

A man has suffered serious injuries after being attacked by a dog, police said.
Officers responded to reports of a dog attack in the back garden of a property on Ripon Drive, West Bromwich, at about 16:40 GMT.
The injured man received treatment from paramedics before being taken to hospital, West Midlands Police said.
The dog was Tasered by specialist officers from the force's dog unit and died at the scene, a spokesperson added.
Police confirmed there was no wider threat to the community.
"We realise incidents of this nature are concerning to the community so we will have extra officers in the area tonight to offer reassurance," the force said in a statement.
It urged anyone with any information to get in touch.
