Woman, 66, dies after early hours house fire

The fire broke out at a house in Portsdown Road early on Monday morning

A woman has died following an early hours house fire in Portsmouth.
Firefighters and police were called to the home in Portsdown Road on Monday shortly before 05:30 GMT.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the 66-year-old was pronounced dead at the Queen Alexandra Hospital. The force said her next of kin had been informed.
A joint police and fire service investigation to establish the cause of the fire is under way.
