A man was found with serious head injuries in Carholme Road, Lincoln

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 55-year-old man in Lincoln.

Police were called to Carholme Road just before 23:30 GMT on Sunday after a man suffered serious head injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and remains in police custody.

Lincolnshire Police said a scene guard was "likely to remain for some time", closing a stretch of road from the A46 to Carholme Road.

The force said it was supporting the victim's family.
