A man has been jailed for six years after setting fire to a woman's mobile home in Cornwall.

Shaun McCormick, 54, of no fixed abode, had pleaded guilty to eight charges including intentional strangulation, threats to kill, intimidation and three counts of criminal damage.

Truro Crown Court had heard police arrested McCormick after finding him waiting at a bus stop after he had set light to the victim's home near Truro.

In court on Friday Judge Simon Carr said: "Everything in her life has been taken away and she has to start again with nothing."
