A man and a woman have appeared in court on a murder charge after a baby died.
Emergency services were called to a home in the New Bilton area of Rugby, in Warwickshire, at 04:35 GMT on Tuesday, after reports of an infant in cardiac arrest.
One-year-old Isabella Stasiak was taken to hospital for treatment, but was later pronounced dead.
Michal Stasiak, 26, and Kinga Wydrzynska, 24, have both been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of the baby. Mr Stasiak, of Blackwood Avenue, Rugby, has also been charged with possession of indecent images.
Ms Wydrzynska, of Johnson Avenue, Rugby has been remanded in custody alongside Mr Stasiak, ahead of a hearing at Warwick Crown Court on Monday.
Applications for reporting restrictions preventing the identification of both the defendants and the baby, submitted by the Crown Prosecution Service, were rejected.
The pair appeared at Coventry Magistrates' Court.
