Pair in court on murder charge after baby dies

A man and a woman have appeared in court charged with murdering a baby.
Emergency services were called to a home in Rugby, Warwickshire, at 04:35 GMT on Tuesday after reports of an infant in cardiac arrest.
One-year-old girl Isabella Stasiak was taken to hospital for treatment but was later pronounced dead.
Michal Stasiak, 26, of Blackwood Avenue, Rugby and 24-year-old Kinga Wydrzynska, of Johnson Avenue, in the town, have both been charged with murder and causing or allowing the death of a baby. Mr Stasiak has also been charged with possession of indecent images. Both appeared earlier at Coventry Magistrates' Court.
The defendants were remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Warwick Crown Court on Monday.
Update 20 January: A court order has been lifted which allows the defendants and the alleged victim to be identified.
