About 1,000 singers from around the world will head to East Yorkshire in May for the Hull International Choir Competition.

The choral competition is in its second year and will culminate in a gala concert at Hull Minster on Saturday, 3 May.

Hull City Council said the events would showcase "exceptional talent from around the world", including the Belilios Public School Choir from Hong Kong and Sweden's Damkören Korallerna.

Events will take place between 1 May and and 5 May across the city, with free pop-up concerts and events.
