A woman has died after being trapped in a pub that was on fire in south Shropshire on Monday.

Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service was called to the Fighting Cocks Inn, High Street, Stottesdon, at about 18:53 BST.

The woman, who was in her 50s, was brought to safety by fire crews but died at the scene.

The fire service said an investigation into the cause was underway. West Midlands Police said her death was not being treated as suspicious and there was no third-party involvement.
