Students were "buzzing" as they opened their A-level and BTec results to find out if they had got the grades they hoped for.

At One Sixth Form College, in Ipswich, results day was the culmination of years of studying, revision, exams and coursework.

Many of the students are going on to university.

Noctis Clark was almost unable to complete their A-levels after they contracted E. coli, but came away with two A* grades and a C.

"I had E. coli for a really long time, and I was also part of the cryptosporidium outbreak, so unfortunately things were not in my favour ever for any of the second year," they explained to BBC Radio Suffolk.

"I massively felt like the odds were against my favour in every regard this past six months.

"Sitting in the exam room very unwell, I'm just glad to have been sat there alive.

"The doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, so it was a waiting game."

The teenager is "super happy" and "really proud" to have achieved their grades.

They will be taking law at the University of Central Lancashire, after potentially studying abroad for a year.

Megan Green was awarded an A* in English, which she will study at university

Megan Green got two A grades and one A*.

She will be heading to the University of Warwick to study English.

"I worked hard, but it's paid off now so I'm really happy," she said.

"Organisation is key because it made my revision so much easier and took a bit of extra weight off my shoulders when it came to my exams, because I already had what I needed available to me.

"There's a lot of discipline involved, but if you do get your head down and concentrate it definitely pays off at the end."

Molly Moore was able to keep track of her grade during her BTec course

Molly Moore took a Level 3 BTec, which allows students to keep track of their progress during the two-year course.

Ms Moore said that by June, she was already confident she had achieved a good mark.

"It's nice to see it all on paper now. It's done and I can move on," she explained.

"I was always on track, but [in] some of the exams I did get less than I hoped for, but the coursework made it up, so I'm quite proud of myself."

She will be going to Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge to study sports science.

"I'm a little bit nervous, but I'm excited for the new step," she added.

Toby Groom achieved three A* grades, securing his place at the University of Nottingham

Toby Groom, got three A* grades in chemistry, biology and business studies.

He will be going to the University of Nottingham to do biochemistry.

"They were the ones I was hoping for but, chemistry in particular, I didn't know if I was going to get it or if I was going to fall a couple marks short," he said.

"I'm absolutely buzzing to have got 99 out of 100 in one of the tests."

While he said opening the results was "unnerving", he was confident in himself thanks to the hard work he put into his studies.

"I'm absolutely buzzing to go to Nottingham," he added.

"It really stood out to me because it's a campus university and it was so homely there, and the nightlife is meant to be really good."
