Firefighters tackling a blaze at an industrial site were working to stop the flames spreading to other units.

Essex County Fire and Rescue Service was called to River Way in Harlow at about 09:00 BST following reports that a building's roof was alight.

Four crews were sent to the scene and used a specialist aerial ladder platform to pour water on the blaze from above.

A spokesperson for the service said: "Firefighters are protecting the adjoining units to stop the fire spreading."

It said crews, external from Chelmsford, Epping, Harlow and Loughton were sent to the scene and the incident was still under way.

The service warned residents that "some smoke" could be seen in the area.

"[The] cause of the fire will be investigated," the spokesperson added.
