Police have thanked people who attended an event for "behaving appropriately" which ensured the event went ahead without any issues.

Dorset Police were on hand over the weekend to "ensure everyone was safe" at Drum and Bass on a Bike event in Bournemouth.

It is estimated that up to 2,000 people attended the event, which began in King's Park at 14:00 BST and finished at Boscombe Pier at 17.30.

Officers confirmed those that attended the event enjoyed themselves and in positive spirits, with no reports of any crime or anti-social behaviour (ASB).

The event been ordered to take a specific route, due to police concerns.

Chief Inspector Darren Harris, of Dorset Police, said: "I would like to thank those who took part for following the route published by Dorset Police, which we felt was appropriate due to the expected number of participants and for behaving appropriately to ensure the event went ahead without any issues.

"Our officers remain committed to patrolling our towns, countryside and coastlines to ensure everyone can enjoy the wonderful things our county has to offer this summer."
