A teenager is in critical condition after he was stabbed multiple times by a group of people in Dublin city-centre on Sunday night, BBC News NI understands.
The assault occurred at around 22:00 BST outside the Wiley Fox pub in Eden Quay, near the Temple Bar area.
The teenage boy was taken to hospital, where he remains in critical condition, Gardaí (Irish police) have said.
Gardaí have appealed to anyone with information in relation to this incident or who may have video footage to contact them.
Dublin City councillor Mannix Flynn said one individual was arrested, while the rest "got away on scooters".
"This is just one headline incident – these are regular occurrences in Dublin," he said.
"We have a serious crisis of law and order in our society."
Flynn added that he hoped the teenager recovers, and that he would like to "see the individual who assaulted the victim brought to justice".
