Temporary bus stops are in operation in a Kent town centre as part of a £22m regeneration project which is a quarter of the way complete.
The scheme aims to improve the roads, external around Folkestone Central railway station and the links to the town centre for pedestrians and cyclists.
Folkestone bus station in Bouverie Square has now been closed ahead of being returned to its former use as a public garden. A new new park will be created.
Temporary bus stops are in place in Middelburg Square, while National Express and other coach services have relocated to a bus stop on Bouverie Road West, Folkestone and Hythe District Council said.
The local authority the scheme would include a change to the two-way traffic in Middelburg Square, alongside the removal of some of the road network in Shellons Street.
This will create a single two-way highway with more pedestrian crossings, it added.
When completed, a new linear bus station in Middelburg Square will offer real-time digital information on bus arrival times and new shelters with "living" roofs.
