A dog owner has been left in shock after one of his three-week-old Dalmatian puppies was stolen.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, said the female pup was taken from his home in Kettering, Northamptonshire on 11 November, and was still missing.

She was one of a litter of 11 and the theft was "very concerning", as only her orange collar remained, he said.

Northamptonshire Police said it happened between 07:00 and 19:00 GMT when the offenders or offenders gained access to the back of the property.

The man told the BBC all the other ten puppies remained after the theft from his conservatory.

"It's just so concerning - just her orange collar was left, which was found in the conservatory.

"As long as the dog is alright, that is the most important thing.

"She will survive if she is given a substitute for breast feeding and I hope she is being kept warm and being given formula.

"It's just so shocking, knowing someone has been in your house.

"Luckily the mum is doing well and is busy looking after the others", he added.

Northamptonshire Police has appealed for anyone with any information to get in touch.
