A road has been closed in Gloucestershire following a serious crash, police have said.

Gloucestershire Police said officers were called to the A433 Tetbury Road in Cirencester at about 09:15 BST on Saturday after receiving reports of a crash involving two vehicles.

The force added the road would be closed between Cirencester and Tetbury "for a number of hours" due to the crash, which happened near the Thames Head Inn.

"Motorists are asked to plan their route in advance and avoid the area while emergency services remain at the scene," police said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident has been asked to contact the force.
