A "dangerous and perverted" man who raped a child and committed other sexual offences has been jailed.
Andrew Davies, 52, of Cleethorpes, initially denied multiple charges but changed his plea to guilty on day three of his trial at Grimsby Crown Court.
He was jailed on Friday for 19 years with an extended six years on licence, placed on the sex offenders register for life, and received a sexual harm prevention order.
Retired Det Con Nicholas Pearce, who led the Humberside Police investigation, described Davies as a "dangerous and perverted individual".
Davies changed his plea on 2 July and admitted three counts of rape, one of attempted rape and one of sexual assault, all against a child under 13.
He further pleaded guilty to two counts of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and one of engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13.
Davies previously pleaded guilty on 28 March 2024 to three counts of possessing a bladed article.
'Safeguard communities'
Humberside Police said Davies was brought to the force's attention when he attended Grimsby Police Station in October 2020, "disclosing accusations that had been made against him".
He was arrested and a quantity of knives were located and seized following a search of his vehicle.
Mr Pearce said: "I hope this result will also encourage others to come forward if they have experienced something similar.
"I'd like to offer my reassurance that we take all allegations like this seriously, and will do our upmost for our victims, as well as safeguard our wider communities against such acts."
