A teenager has appeared in court charged with child rape.

Choman Sameen, 19, is charged with two counts of raping a girl aged between 13 and 15 and two counts of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a girl aged between 13 and 15.

The charges relate to an alleged incident involving two children in Barnsley on 20 August.

Mr Sameen, from Leeds, appeared at Sheffield Crown Court on Friday, where he entered a not guilty plea on all four charges. The defendant, who spoke through a Kurdish Sorani interpreter, was remanded in custody ahead of a trial on 16 March.
