The organisers of Jersey's Battle of Flowers want new financial backing ahead of next year's event.

The 123-year-old annual parade is set to return to Victoria Avenue, St Helier, from 14-15 August after a scaled back version of the event was moved to the town centre to save money.

Renowned for its colourful floral floats and dancers, the Battle of Flowers attracts tens of thousands of spectators every year and aims to bring a carnival atmosphere to the streets of Jersey.

Chris Parlett, from Battle, said the free parade "has always been about community", and said sponsors would be able to invest in the island's "people, creativity, and cultural heritage".

Investors are being invited to support in different ways, such as by sponsoring floats, or getting involved with the entertainment zones, or community projects.

They can also volunteer as part of building the floats, or offering creative workshops.

"Our volunteers are the heart of the Battle," Mr Parlett added.

"We'd love to see local companies take part, not only as sponsors, but as teams who get involved and make a difference together."

Earlier this year the Government of Jersey approved nearly £160,000 to cover losses made by the Battle of Flowers in 2024.
