Four boys arrested after Tesco supermarket fire

Four boys aged between 11 and 13 have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a supermarket was significantly damaged by fire.

Tesco Extra in Mill Street in Bedworth was closed to shoppers shortly before 18:00 GMT on Thursday following the blaze which started in the customer toilets.

Warwickshire Police has confirmed two boys from Bedworth, one from Nuneaton and one from Nottingham have been arrested.

They have been released on bail, pending further investigation, the force said.

Det Insp Paul Sartoris said: "A significant amount of damage has been caused to this supermarket in Bedworth as the result of a fire, and there was a serious risk that someone could have been badly hurt."
