Yassin Alama was fatally stabbed in Handsworth

A boy aged 17 has been charged with the murder of a 19-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in Birmingham.

Yassin Alama died after being found with serious injuries on Hutton Road in Handsworth on 16 November.

The accused, who cannot be named due to his age, was detained at a house in Birmingham on Sunday. An 18-year-old held on suspicion of assisting an offender was later bailed, West Midlands Police said.

The force added that Mr Alama's family had been updated on the development and were being supported by officers.
