Officers called to Swancote Road, Dudley, during the early hours of Saturday found a man in his 40s with fatal injuries.

A 36-year-old man was detained on suspicion of murder a few hours later in Wednesbury. Police obtained a magistrates' court extension on Sunday.

Officers now have until the early hours of Tuesday to keep the man in custody for questioning. Door-to-door inquiries were being carried out and police would like anyone with information to come forward.
