A 27-year-old woman is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a car mounted a kerb in Worcester

A man has been arrested after a woman was left with life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a car which had mounted a kerb.

The 27-year-old woman was on Deansway in Worcester when the car collided with her at about 15:20 BST on Saturday. She was later taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham.

A 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of an accident, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and being unfit to drive.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing and police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward.
