Third murder arrest after man found dying in street

A third person has been arrested following the death of a man in Leicester.

Officers on patrol found the man fatally injured in Modbury Avenue in the Mowmacre Hill area at about 00:10 BST on Monday.

Leicestershire Police initially detained two men, 19 and 25, on suspicion of murder but the 25-year-old has been released with no further action while the 19-year-old man remains in police custody.

The third man, 20, has also been arrested on suspicion of murder and will be questioned by detectives.

Police said a number of officers remained in the area to carry out further inquiries and provide reassurance to the community.

An appeal for witnesses and relevant dashcam footage has also been renewed.
