Work is set to begin to install 20 permanent bike spaces on South Esplanade in St Peter Port near the bus terminus.

States of Guernsey traffic and highway services received approval for the work to take place, after applying last month.

The spaces will replace the existing blue bike rack in a bid to provide more cycling facilities in the town.

The blue bike rack, owned by the Health Improvement Commission, will be moved along The Bordage, reducing obstructions for pedestrians.
