The Grade II-listed building in Peterborough's city centre is to be turned into flats

Plans have been approved for an office to be turned into self-contained apartments in a city centre.

Peterborough City Council granted permission for 45 Priestgate in Peterborough to be turned into nine one-bedroom flats, spread over three floors and with nine cycle spaces.

The Grade II-listed building, which is located near Peterborough Museum, was formerly used as an office space and is currently vacant.

The site is located within the city centre and is close to the bus station and train station, as well as public car parks, so car parking provision was not required by the local plan, the applicant said.

No objections were received from the highway authority nor any other local body.

The proposal was approved last week.
