A hospital has been given permission to replace the roof of a bridge connecting two buildings after it was found to contain a potentially unsafe concrete.

The link bridge at Kidderminster General Hospital - between A Block and C Block - was closed after the discovery of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac).

Wyre Forest District Council has given Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust the go-ahead to remove the Raac and replace the roof.

Planning papers show there will also be alterations to the existing facade of the link bridge but the structural frame will be retained.
