Man, 33, charged with murder of 69-year-old woman

A 33-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 69-year-old woman.

The woman, who has not been named, died after being admitted to hospital with severe injuries.

It comes after North Wales Police were called to a house on Cefndy Road, Rhyl, Denbighshire, on Thursday night.

Dean Mark Albert Mears, of Bodelwyddan Avenue, Kinmel Bay, Conwy county, is due to appear before magistrates in Llandudno on Monday.

He was initially arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 25-year-old woman, who has arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, has been released on conditional bail.

Det Chief Insp Lee Boycott said the investigation was continuing and he urged "anyone with information who has not yet come forward to contact us".
