The co-founder and director of a charity is attempting to run 150km (93 miles) in one day to raise funds.
Danny Watson of Hull-based Catzero began his run at Grimsby docks just after 04:00 BST on Thursday.
He took a boat across the Humber to Hull Marina where he ran laps. He was due to finish at midnight.
CatZero has worked for 15 years to change the lives of people across the Humber region including children, younger people, unemployed adults, service veterans, and families.
Mr Watson decided to do the challenge, running the equivalent of three and a half marathons, to mark the charity's 15th anniversary.
He hoped to raise at least £24,000 which would enable CatZero to work with an additional 12 families, or about 60 children, young people, or adults.
Mr Watson said: “The need for CatZero is clear when you appreciate that in Hull and Grimsby alone there are 35,100 children living in poverty, 27,400 workless households, and 1,501 looked after children, at a total cost of £100 million.
“As a co-founder of CatZero, I am hugely proud of what the organisation has achieved over the last 15 years, working with more than 2,000 people, helping many into stable and manageable situations, employment, training, volunteering, and education."
Mr Watson completed a 30 in 30 Challenge in 2021, which involved him running 30 marathons in 30 days. It raised almost £100,000 for CatZero.
