End of year exams for Forres Academy pupils may have to be held in a community centre.

Repair work continues on the school following the discovery of potentially dangerous reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (Raac) last year.

The majority of this term's prelim exams have been held at Forres House community centre.

In an update to parents, Moray Council said discussions were ongoing about the upcoming SQA exams. It said more information would be made available soon.

Several classrooms, including for science, technical subjects and drama, were closed in September on the advice of structural engineers.

Some classes have been taught off-site and pupils have been offered extra support to make up for lost teaching time.

Moray Council said two phases of a repair programme had been completed, and a third was progressing in line with projected timescales.

Almost all the affected class subjects are now being delivered at the school.

A classroom for home economics is expected to be ready by the end of April.
