Suspected explosive device found by cafe on beach

A suspected explosive device has been found in the sand of a public beach near to a cafe.
A police cordon has been put up around the device, which was found on Redcar Beach near to the Stray Cafe.
Officers from Cleveland Police are at the scene and are working with specialist bomb disposal experts.
Members of the public are being warned to stay away from the area.
Posting on social media, Cleveland Police said: "A cordon is currently in place on Redcar beach near the Stray Cafe after a suspected explosive device was discovered in the sand.
"Cleveland Police officers are currently in the area and are working closely with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) officers who will assess the object."
