Doncaster City Council hopes to create a "tech cluster of national significance"

Work on a £32m digital technology hub planned for Doncaster is due to get under way next month, the city council has said.

Gateway One on Trafford Way will house tech businesses, with global AI firm Automated Analytics among the founding organisations.

Building of the 52,000 sq ft (4,830 sq m) site, funded by money from central government under the Town Deal, is expected to be completed in January 2027.

Doncaster Central MP Sally Jameson said the project would foster "economic prosperity, innovation and excellence in AI".

The council said it hoped the project would help create a "tech cluster of national significance" in Doncaster, while Mayor Ros Jones said it would be a "magnet" for firms seeking to grow their businesses.

The five-floor Gateway One development has been designed to have net zero carbon emissions and will include two commercial units on the ground floor.

Mark Taylor, CEO and founder of Automated Analytics, said the company was proud to be an anchor tenant in the scheme.

He said: "There is a 'secret sauce' in Doncaster that enables impossible to become reality, and we look forward to the exciting next chapter that awaits."
