Second man charged with murder in kidnap case

A second man has been charged with the murder of a man who was kidnapped and killed six years ago.

The victim, Tomasz Samel, 45, was taken from his home on Raleigh Close in Handsworth in a white van on 27 March 2019. Later that day he banged on the door of a property in Bickerstaffe, Lancashire, to get help but was suffering from 75% burns. He later died in hospital in Liverpool.

Kye Arthur, 34, of of Copley Gardens, Bristol, has been charged with murder and will appear before magistrates in Birmingham later.

Tobiasz Kozlowski, 38, from Liverpool, has already appeared before magistrates over Mr Samel's murder and will appear at crown court on 24 October.

Mr Arthur and Mr Kozlowski have also been charged with conspiracy to cause GBH with intent, conspiracy to kidnap, and false imprisonment

Sandra Kozlowska, 37, from Liverpool, has been charged with assisting an offender and will also appear in court on 24 October.
