Football fan arrested over alleged racial abuse

A football fan was arrested after a member of staff was reportedly racially abused during Peterborough United's home clash with Shrewsbury Town on Saturday.
The 23-year-old was detained on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence at about 15:15 GMT – 15 minutes after the two sides kicked off in their League One match.
Peterborough United said the man, who is from the city, was arrested in the GH Display stand of the team's Weston Homes Stadium.
He was released on bail until 31 May.

The alleged incident took place at Posh's stadium in London Road
"We are aware of an arrest in the GH Display stand following an allegation of racial abuse towards a member of staff," a club spokesperson said.
"On conclusion of the police investigation we will take appropriate action.
"Peterborough United does not condone any form of abuse."
