A plume of black smoke was seen above a barn after a large fire broke out.
Crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service were called out to Woodrow Road, on the outskirts of Melksham in Wiltshire, at 14:57 BST.
The service said the fire was under control by 21:00 and firefighters were damping down the last hot spots, with two relief crews and a water carrier remaining on scene to monitor the situation.
It added that firefighters used their main jets on the blaze, which caused a "significant smoke plume". People living nearby were advised to keep their doors and windows closed.
