A Nottingham cemetery that closed in August after people set up camp in the grounds has reopened, the city council has said.

Rock Cemetery - on the corner of Mansfield Road and Forest Road East - was temporarily closed on 12 August following the arrival of the group, who were believed to be homeless.

Nottingham City Council said the people in the small encampment had since accepted help from homeless charity Framework.

A spokesperson for the authority said the cemetery had returned to its normal opening times of 09:00 to 15:00.

The council previously said it had received a number of complaints from visitors prompting the "difficult decision" to temporarily close.
