A "dangerous bully" who "liked to film his offences" has been jailed for almost a decade after raping and attacking a woman.

Kane Walker, previously of County Road in Swindon, was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday after being found guilty of mulitple offences in October, when he was described as a "dangerous bully".

Walker used an Airtag to track and control the victim. He was sentenced to nine years and nine months in prison after being found guilty of one count of rape, sexual assault and controlling and coercive behaviour.

In a statement read out in court, the woman said she feels safer knowing Walker is behind bars, adding: "I feel free to go and do what I please."

"I now wear what I want, dress how I want and do what I want, I have freedom and a weight has been lifted off my shoulders," she added.

The court heard that two days after Walker's arrest, he set fire to a BMW belonging to a relative of the victim.

He was charged with arson and witness intimidation and was jailed for these offences in November 2024, ahead of the separate sexual offences trial.

'Stood up against evil'

Major crime investigator Catherine Baird said digital evidence was paramount in this investigation.

"Walker liked to film his offences, him throwing objects at her, following her and being extremely verbally abusive.

"This young woman admirably came to the police and trusted us to investigate the offences that were alleged.

"She stood up against evil and has come out feeling free," she added.
