New tracks to cause weekend of rail disruption

Network Rail said it was spending £968,000 replacing tracks in Mountsorrel in Leicestershire

Rail passengers have been warned there will be no trains between Nottingham and Leicester for one weekend in mid-November due to new tracks being installed.
Instead, rail replacement buses will run between the two East Midlands cities on 15 and 16 November.
Network Rail said the work would see 830m (2,723ft) of rail being fitted on 1,232 new concrete sleepers in the Mountsorrel area.
It added the project would result in smoother and more reliable travel.
Philippa Cresswell, customer experience director for East Midlands Railway (EMR), said: "We recommend customers planning to travel on either Saturday 15 or Sunday 16 November to check their journey in advance as the journey will take much longer than usual.
"Rail replacement buses will be in place between Nottingham and Leicester, with no direct journeys to London from Sheffield or Nottingham.
"For full details on how to complete your journey, please check the EMR website."
