A teenage boy has been seriously injured following a "one-punch" attack, police said.

Officers were called to reports of an argument between two boys in a park in Wellington Road, Boston, at about 14:00 BST on Sunday.

Lincolnshire Police said the victim was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital, where his condition was described as serious.

The force urged people not to speculate and said there would be an increased police presence in the area, including at local schools.

A force spokesperson said: "We know how concerning this incident will be for parents and the local community.

"We are doing everything we can to understand what happened, and we have identified a number of people who we want to speak with."

Anyone with information or footage of the incident is asked to contact police.
