Plymouth's 111 call centre to close

A 111 call centre in Plymouth is set to close after facing issues with staff retention, bosses say.
Practice Plus Group confirmed it had taken the decision to close its Plymouth city centre office, which was a temporary satellite location set up during the Covid pandemic.
The group said it was consulting with staff and aimed to minimise job losses by offering them a transfer, to work remotely or within one of their other services.
It said it would continue to operate in Devon at its Exeter site.
It said it would "ensure that a high quality service continues to be provided to the people of Devon".
The site will officially be closed by the end of November, it added.
A spokesperson for the NHS in Devon said: "We don’t expect there to be an impact on the service for patients as this is a back office change.
"Staff at the centre will be offered remote working or relocation."
