Trains disrupted as tracks too 'slippery'

Slippery tracks in Buckinghamshire are causing trains to be delayed or diverted
- Published
Train passengers heading to London have faced delays because of disruption due to "slippery rails".
Chiltern Railways said a build-up of leaves had affected lines between Aylesbury and Amersham, in Buckinghamshire.
The company said train services running through these stations could be cancelled, delayed by up to 30 minutes or diverted via High Wycombe.
Tickets were being accepted by other operators including Transport for London (TfL) and West Midlands trains.
A spokesman for Chiltern Railways said: "We are sorry for disruption to services between Wendover and Amersham today... which was caused by a build-up of leaves on the tracks.
"Slippery rails make it hard for trains to accelerate and brake effectively and safety is our top priority."
The company said tickets were being accepted by TfL's Metropolitan Line services operating between Amersham, Rickmansworth, Harrow-on-the-Hill and Baker Street stations.
They will also be accepted by West Midlands Trains services operating between Cheddington, Tring, Berkhampstead and London Euston stations.
