A man has been stabbed after he was chased down a street and attacked by two men in Coventry.

The man, in his 20s, sought safety in a shop near Stoney Stanton Road after the attack, which took place at about 16:00 GMT on Monday.

West Midlands Police said he was walking down the street when two occupants of a black Ford Puma got out to attack him.

After entering the shop, members of the public stepped in to help the man, who was later taken to hospital with injuries that were not thought to be life-threatening, the force said.

Detectives said they believed there were people on the number 21 bus who may have seen what happened and potentially captured footage.

They asked for anyone with information or footage to come forward.
