A man has been arrested after armed police descended on a cul-de-sac in Northumberland.
Hayton Close in Cramlington had to be cordoned off following reports of a disturbance at one of the properties there, while multiple police dog units, fire engines and an ambulance were also in attendance.
Several hours after a 999 call was made to Northumbria Police at 09:00 BST, a man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm without a valid certificate, the force said.
He is currently in police custody.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson confirmed it attended the scene but the crew was stood down by police.
